Editing Diary day 4: 25th November
At this time the flashbacks that we had put together looked better and made more sense as a whole. When filming we used the hand held effect as we wanted to give the effect of the audience looking through the womans eyes, we put this flash back into balck and white which we both thought worked well.

Editing day 3: 22nd November
Today we planned to added the flask backs within the music video. We tried to stick to our final story board very closley but we have made some changes through editing. We have decided to show the flashbacks in a black and white effect from the macs. I found sometimes that the flashbackd did look a bit out of place and just filling up the time within the video but we are hoping after more editing and when the video is completed then it will look a more together piece.
We did find some of the shots to be unstable, so we stabilized the shots this was to help the tranistions flow better. When changing the flash backs to black and white we dropped the brightness by 66% as the lighting looked to bright for the effect we wanted to give.

Editing day 2: 19th November
We have had some difficult experiences with lip syncing as we have found it to be very difficulkt matching the mouthing of our actor to the atcual uploaded recorded song. The lip syncing is getting better now we know how to over come issues. This was partly effected from the transitions we placed within the project as when we made the lip syncing fitting to the song we then would put a transition before or after the singing, this would then make the timing out again n the lip sycing. We over come this by making sure we put transitions in before placing the shots into the project.
We did find the tranistions hard to fit in at times as we set the transitions to be for one second but after watching it we found it to be to quick so we have decided to slow the transitions down. We have decided to have a slow dissolve for most of the transitions but have one as a cross dissolve as we thought it fitted the time of the music video better.
We did notice that the lighting on the footage wasn't good and found it to be grainy and dark. But we found out that it was the same for other groups this meant it was the cameras not our filming.
By the end of this time we had got 30 seconds of footage completed.

Editing day one: 15th November:
Now that we have uploaded all of our footage we have now started editing. We will find it hard to edit on a current basis as there are only five macs and we are sharing a mac with another group.
Once the footage was uploaded we needed to look through all of the footage and select what shots we would want to use within the music video. As there was a lot of footage this was difficult to achieve. We started to place the shots into the project and manage to get ten seconds of the video started. We did positivly manage to choose the shots we wanted for the whole music video.

Original images taken for ancillary task: CD Cover- our first ancillary idea:
These images are from our new idea for our ancillary tasks they show the two woman and the man from our music video. We plan to merge the left side of the blonde womans face (eye and nose) and the other womans right side (eye and nose). We then plan to merge the mans chin on to the face. This idea will be presented on the front cover of the digipack. On the reverse front cover we hope to present the fallen over stool that is shown within the music video we took the image while filming to keep continuity. This will show our house colours which are oranges and reds, within the music video and within the CD cover. The third panel we want to show a torn up bits of the womans diary with certain relevant words on the pieces of paper from the music video and single. We need to add another panel to meet the conventions of a CD cover. We plan to have a simple black background with a simple font in the colour of orange for the song list this is to keep the house colours. We plan to have apart of the cloth from the stool shown on the back as apart of the design.
We did our editing for our digi pack on serif page plus 11 and serif photo plus, this made it possible to combine the photographs together to make one face. We also changed the lighting of the photograaph to give it a better effect.
The process for the second panel of the digi pack. This shows all of the house colours. The stool that is fallen in the photograph is the same as how it fell within the music video.
The process of the third panel of the digi pack. This photograph shows what i meant to be torn up bit of paper from a diary. It shows lyrics from the song and also shows apart of the song list.
These images are the photos Adam and I took while filming. We wanted to use the photos from when when we filmed to show house colours.

Cd covers and magazines that have given inspiration.
After changing our initial idea for our CD cover and magazine advert we found a band that gave us inspiration for our new idea. The band is called 'kings of Leon'. After looking at there CD cover for their album 'only by the night' we thought it would be great to do something similar for the purpose of our music video.
When looking at this CD cover and one of the music videos called 'sex on fire' i saw an immediate relationship between them both. I saw the bird like face within the band members faces and then when watching the music video i saw a bird several times this has shown an immediate theme.
I also noticed there are similar colours presented within the CD cover and muic video 'sex on fire'. A lot of the colouring within the music video is very dark earth colours, this is too presented on the CD cover showing green for 'face'.

Our idea for our new ancillary task
Our idea for our new ancillary CD cover design came from the Cd cover from the band kings of leon and their album, 'Only by the night'. We liked how the band members faces have been in a way blended together to make one face and then with what looks like bird features added. We wanted to do something simluar that would related to the music video and song. This particular CD cover gave us inspiration as we thought it was clever to merge the faces together as it show the man having both women in his life. We want to have one eye for one of the woman and another eye for the other woman and the mouth and chin for the man. We want to give this an effect of the woman watching
like within the music video.
This is our idea for our CD cover as shown their is the women both shown within the music video along with the man.
Final storyboard
This was meant to be our final magazine poster for our magazine but Adam and I have decided that we want to change it as will feel we can progress to make it better. Within these anciallry tasks we have stuck to very clear house colours which are reds, oranges and blacks. All of these house colours are presented within the magazine poster, CD cover and music video. We will still keep these house colours within the new idea.
We decided to call the album 'the find' but in addition to the new idea we may change this.In addition to our decision we have made a draft plan for the new poster and digi pack which we will show on our blogs. We originally had for idea for the magazine poster of the a close up part of the cloth from the stool within the music video. We edited this with lighting effects on serif photo plus. We wanted a simple typography for our poster.
This was supposed to be our final ancillary digipack. After a lot of thought Adam and I decided to to progress and change it to make it better as we didn't like the photograph quality and the mise-en-scene within the photograph. We took photographs from when we filmed part of our music video to keep continuity. This was our original idea when we drew up our draft.
